Session 2 – Making it Meaningful: Responding Assessments
Wednesday 21 May, 6:30-7:30pm AEST
*Registration includes attendance to both sessions*
Session 1 – Orientation to the Curriculum
In our first session, we’ll provide an overview of The Australian Curriculum v9: Music. We’ll explore the Achievement Standards, Content Descriptors, and Examples of Knowledge and Skills, offering a clear orientation to the new curriculum.
This session will cover similar content to the webinar Deb presented last year. If you didn’t attend, this is a great opportunity to get up to speed. If you did, it will serve as a valuable recap and help deepen our shared understanding of Version 9.
Session 2 – Making it Meaningful: Responding Assessments
Join Deb and Debbie for an informative, interactive and inspiring look at the responding strand of v9 of the Australian curriculum and how these aspects of the achievement standards play out in a Kodály-inspired classroom.
What does it mean to communicate ideas through our compositions in Year 4? How can 6 year olds express their ideas about where/why and how people make music in an age appropriate and easily teacher-managed way? How do we explore continuing and revitalising cultures in a respectful manner? Participate in discussions and see examples.
Please note: The content of this session was presented at Kodály National Conference in Melbourne in 2024.
