2024 Kodály Australia National Conference Scholarships

Kodály Qld are offering 3 scholarships to Queensland members who are traveling to Melbourne and participating in the 2024 Kodály Australian Conference. Please note, all scholarships are open to Kodály Queensland members only.

The conference has Early Bird prices that finish on June 30 and accommodation is already booking up fast, so don’t leave it too late to book your place!

Scholarship applications will open on Tuesday 9 April

Closing date for applications to be received is Sunday 21 April with recipients being announced on Friday 26 April

Scholarships on offer are:

  1. To honour the passing of Lenore Bateman, we are offering one scholarship of $1000 to be awarded to a Kodály Qld member. The recipient must attend the conference in full.
  2. Kodály Qld is offering two half scholarships, open to any Kodály Qld member who wishes to attend the conference (full or part-time). The price is half of your conference fees, to a maximum of $500.

All applicants must write 100-300 words on why they believe they would be the best person to receive this scholarship. Provide details outlining your reasons for nomination, in relation to the selection criteria below. Please address in your own words.

  1. Applicant demonstrates ability and willingness to promote the goals and philosophy of Kodály Australia.
  2. Applicant’s evidence of recently attended workshops and courses with a Kodály emphasis, and a commitment to continued professional development as a music educator.
  3. How will this scholarship allow you to pursue best practice, implementing the skills and knowledge you’ve gained?
  4. Why do you believe you are the best candidate to receive this scholarship?
