LAUNCH: Sing A-Round Australia

Kodály Queensland is excited to share with you our first volume of Australian rounds and partner songs, Sing A-Round Australia. For many years, we have sung songs about squirrels, birch trees, and snow; themes unfamiliar to Australian children. Our aim with this collection is to celebrate our uniquely Australian voice— music that reflects our own landscapes, stories, and experiences.

Queensland is home to many outstanding composers, and Kodály Queensland has been proud to commission this collection of rounds and partner songs from such a talented group. Composers who have contributed to this first volume include: Robert Burrell, Joshua Clifford, Bethany Elsworth, Sheree Eyles, Stuart Gillard, Kate Littlewood, Kylie Los, Abigail Lui, Sandra Millikin, Debbie O’Shea, Kath Ruhle, Ian Ross Williams.

This collection will be made available at no cost to members. (More information about this will come soon.) We would like to invite you to a launch event on 29 May where we will sing through the songs and celebrate their release. It will be held at Eagle Junction State School from 4:15pm (for a 4:30pm start) on 29 May.

Dinner (at own cost) will follow this event. Venue TBC.
