Kate Tyson (Thompson) is a frequent lecturer and guest presenter at conferences and workshops across Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Canada. She has presented Kodaly (AKC) Training Courses in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Auckland, Napier and Kuala Lumpur. Kate is a Past President of the Queensland Chapter of the Kodaly Music Education Institute of Australia (KMEIA) and has also conducted choirs of various ages for Voices of Birralee.

Kate has taught classroom music at both state and independent schools and is currently a Music Specialist at Ambrose Treacy College in Brisbane. Having taught in boys’ education for the majority of her teaching career, Kate is passionate about raising the profile of Music and enjoys finding new ways to engage her students. 

Maree Hennessy is an internationally recognised leader, teacher, professional development facilitator and mentor in Kodály-inspired practice. Her career spans from music teacher in regional Queensland to Director of the renowned Kodály Center at Holy Names University.

Maree has extensive experience in music education across sectors and age groups – early childhood, school, university and community settings in state, independent and Catholic school systems. Having worked in country Queensland, she developed extensive experience in teaching and learning in multi-level and mixed ability contexts.
